The Iowa Model Yacht Racing Club (AMYA Club 142) is hosting the First Ever V-32 Region 4 Championship Regatta August 18 - 20, 2006 in Des Moines, IA.  John Davis has sent along this Notice of Race (NOR) (in Acrobat PDF format) for those interested in attending and or racing.  Hope to see you all there!

February 2006

Paul Thompson has graciously accepted the position of V-32 Class Secretary. Tentatively he can be reached through the V-32 Yahoo Group (he's now an Owner and gets the emails) or though his V-32 email account until the switch to V-32@modelyacht.org takes over.

I AM very thankful to Paul for taking the reins, there will be much information transfer and changing on the web to make this all happen but I'm confident Paul will fill the post better than I have these past couple years.

Paul's temporary V-32 email account is

S a i l V 3 2 @ A O L . c o m

with no spaces (no zero's either)

Paul's Snail mail info

Paul has been involved in R/C Sailing for less than two years and it has been full of activity. He started with a Megatech Nirvana purchased at a local hobby store to sail for fun in his backyard lake. Shortly thereafter, he joined AMYA and the Indianapolis Admirals Club and obtained a US One Meter. During the 2005 season he sailed the US One Meter to first place in the Admiral's Tug Wilson Regatta Series AA Class and to an 18th place finish in the US One Meter nationals. Toward the end of 2005 the Admirals established the V-32 as their class to introduce new members to the sport of R/C sailing. Paul purchased his V-32, named Whirled Peas, to participate in this class. One of the first things he did was to hold the First Annual Brrr-egatta for V-32's that included participants from Indiana and Ohio. He looks forward to promoting this class and increasing the number of AMYA registrants.

When not sailing you can find Paul playing trumpet in the local community band or commuting to work on his inline skates.
